Assess
Your care begins with an Initial Iron Assessment.
We'll review your symptoms, health history, medications and supplements, previous iron treatments, and any recent bloodwork you have available.
If updated or additional bloodwork is needed, we will order the appropriate testing as part of your assessment.
Bloodwork used for your iron assessment must be from within the last 3 months.

Review & Plan
An ACE Nurse Practitioner reviews your results.
Once your results are available, an ACE Nurse Practitioner will review your assessment and bloodwork to determine whether IV iron is an appropriate treatment option for you.
If IV iron is recommended, the Nurse Practitioner will prescribe the appropriate treatment and review the process with you, including your dose, number of infusions, potential benefits and risks, and what to expect during treatment.
Our team can also help coordinate with your pharmacy and navigate medication coverage when applicable.

Infuse
Your infusion, at ACE Health & Wellness.
Once your treatment plan is established, we'll schedule your infusion at ACE Health & Wellness.
Your IV iron will be administered in a comfortable, monitored clinical setting.
The type of iron, infusion time and number of treatments will depend on your individual treatment plan.
What it costs
Initial Iron Assessment
Your Initial Iron Assessment includes the clinical assessment and review needed to determine whether IV iron may be appropriate for you.
This may include:
- Review of your symptoms and health history
- Review of recent bloodwork
- Additional bloodwork when needed
- Nurse Practitioner consultation and review
- IV iron prescription when clinically appropriate
- Individualized treatment plan
- Review of the infusion process
- Pharmacy coordination as needed
Iron Infusion Treatment
Pricing varies depending on the type of iron prescribed and the number of infusions required.
Your treatment is individualized based on your bloodwork, health history, iron requirements and the IV iron prescribed.
Medication costs may vary depending on your pharmacy and private insurance coverage.
We'll review your treatment plan and expected costs with you before treatment begins.
Nurse Practitioners are currently unable to bill OHIP, so ACE operates on a fee-for-service basis. We do not bill insurance companies directly, and all services must be paid for at the time they are rendered.

What if I don't have recent bloodwork?
That's okay. If you haven't had the appropriate bloodwork completed within the last 3 months, we can order the necessary testing as part of your assessment. Once your results are available, they'll be reviewed to determine the appropriate next steps.

No. You can book an Initial Iron Assessment directly with ACE Health & Wellness. We'll guide you through the process, from assessment and bloodwork to Nurse Practitioner review, prescription, treatment and follow-up.
